Indie Academy is a launch pad. We aim to re-engage young adults with education, opening up pathways to further training or employment.
Work commitments – and life – can get in the way of taking that next step in education.
Our flexible learning system is designed to support mature aged students to grow their skills and reach their learning goals.
Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning
Indie Academy provides the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL), a senior schooling certificate, as the educational pathway. An Indie Academy learner will receive a VCAL certificate at:
- Foundation level
- Intermediate level
Pattern of study
Indie Academy learners will be enrolled into fulltime study, participating in:
- Literacy
- Numeracy
- Work readiness
- Personal development skills
- Vocational and educational training (VETiS)
Pathways
Indie Academy learners will be able to use their VCAL certificate to participate in further competency based learning, at TAFE or other registered training organisations (RTO), focusing on specialised skills to gain future employment.
